Host genetic polymorphisms associated with beta human papillomavirus seropositivity

نویسندگان

چکیده

Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) cause superficial epidermal infections and are only cleared if they trigger an immunological response. We analysed SNPs that had previously been investigated for association with HPV infection to determine whether play a role in the serological response cutaneous beta-HPVs Australian population. Serum samples from 1,142 participants were seropositivity against L1 protein of 21 beta-HPV types. Associations between types rs9264942 (HLA-C; HPV-9, p = 0.022, HPV-15, 0.043 HPV-17, 0.004), rs12449858 (EVER1; HPV-23, 0.029), rs2981451 (FGFR2; HPV-22, 0.049) identified. found certain could be involved beta-HPVs.

Human cytomegalovirus seropositivity is associated with impaired vascular function.

BACKGROUND Herpesvirus infection is a possible risk factor for atherogenesis, and diabetics may be at particular risk. Endothelial dysfunction is an early marker for atherosclerosis, and the present study tests the hypotheses that (1) prior infection with cytomegalovirus (CMV) and herpes simplex virus (HSV) is associated with endothelial dysfunction and (2) this may be more marked in diabetics....

Genetic polymorphisms associated with antiepileptic metabolism.

Several factors, including pharmacogenetics, contribute to inter-individual variability in drug response. Many antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) are metabolized by a variety of enzymatic reactions, and the cytochrome P450 (CYP) family has attracted considerable attention. Some of the CYPs exist as genetic (allelic) variants, which may also affect the plasma concentrations or drug exposure. Regarding t...

Cytokine Gene Polymorphisms in Iranian Patients with Beta-Thalassemia Major

Background: β-thalassemia as a hereditary disease is defined as defective synthesis of   β-globin chains, resulting in erythropoiesis abnormalities and severe anemia. Different studies have shown that cytokines and cytokine gene polymorphisms play a major role in the pathogenesis of   β-thalassemia. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the promoter region or other regulatory sequences ...

Relevant Allelic Frequency of Gene Polymorphism and Genetic Predisposition of Human Papillomavirus in Patients with Cervical Cancer

Backround: The present study investigated the correlation between p53 gene codon 72 polymorphism and 6 other genetic single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in patients with cervical cancer infected by HPV. Methods: 450 patients with cervical cancer (280 Squamous cell carcinoma and 170 Adenocarcinoma) were followed at hospitals in Iran from Dec. 2014 to Apr. 2015. Moreover, 100 age/sex-matche...

Pharmacogenetics and human genetic polymorphisms.

The term pharmacogenetics was first used in the late 1950s and can be defined as the study of genetic factors affecting drug response. Prior to formal use of this term, there was already clinical data available in relation to variable patient responses to the drugs isoniazid, primaquine and succinylcholine. The subject area developed rapidly, particularly with regard to genetic factors affectin...
